Dr. Cheryl A. McClain is a board-certified family physician and addiction medicine specialist whose work has significantly advanced medication-assisted treatment and addiction care systems, particularly in rural and underserved communities. She has served as State and National Treatment Program Medical Director for BrightView Addiction Centers and led MAT programs across multiple states.
Dr. McClain has developed and implemented addiction clinics, controlled substance oversight programs, benzodiazepine de-escalation initiatives, and workforce training efforts supported by major HRSA grants. Her leadership integrates clinical care, quality improvement, physician education, and health system design to expand safe, evidence-based addiction treatment at scale.
