Dr. Gillespie earned his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University, completed his pediatric residency training at Rush Children’s Hospital in Chicago, followed by a year as Chief Resident at Rush. He also received a Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois- Chicago. Dr. Gillespie is committed to improving the quality of care delivered to children of all ages and has been instrumental in training providers on the implementation of screening tools, including for developmental delays, autism, adolescent depression and substance abuse.
He is currently working on screening for parental Adverse Childhood Experiences and has been recognized nationally for this work. He is recipient of the John L. Stevenson Award for Excellence in General Pediatrics (Legacy Randall Children’s Hospital).
