Dr. Braman’s academic career began at The Alpert Medical School of Brown University where he achieved the rank of Professor of Medicine in 1989, serving as Division Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine 2000- 2009 and Director of the Division of Pulmonary, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine at Brown’s major university teaching hospital, The Rhode Island Hospital, from 1973 until 2009.
Dr. Braman is currently Professor Emeritus at Brown University and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, on the teaching faculty at West Palm Beach VA Medical Center, and at the Schmidt College of Medicine of Florida Atlantic University’s Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship. Dr. Braman has received several ACCP awards for his work furthering progress in the field of diseases of the chest and has been a member of the ACCP Cough Guidelines and Expert Panel Committee since 2005.
