Gurinder Kumar, MD, FAAP, FRCPCH

Dr. Kumar completed his pediatric residency at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India, worked clinically for several years and then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology in 2013 at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He worked at a tertiary care academic center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in the capacity of pediatric nephrologist for 5 years before moving to the United States. He completed his pediatric residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, and thereafter joined MetroHealth in July 2021 as pediatric hospitalist. He is board certified in pediatrics and holds a fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the United Kingdom. He is a certified lactation consultant and has received certification in medical quality. He is an Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Pediatric Advanced Life Support instructor.

Dr Kumar is active in multiple national and international medical societies. He has authored and coauthored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, and case reports. He served on the editorial board of 2 journals, as ad hoc manuscript reviewer for multiple journals, and as abstract reviewer for international conferences. He is active in multiple quality improvement projects in the Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr Kumar is actively involved in resident education and teaching activities as well as resident teaching on diversity, inclusion, and equality.
