Anand Patel, MD

Dr. Anand Patel is an assistant professor of medicine in the section of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Chicago. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Inpatient Leukemia Service. Dr. Patel attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for medical school, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed internal medicine residency at Northwestern, where he also served as chief resident. After residency, he joined the University of Chicago for fellowship, where he served as chief fellow. Dr. Patel’s clinical and research interests are geared towards the development of clinical trials that help improve the standard of care for patients with high-risk leukemia and myeloid malignancies. His research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, such as Blood, Blood Advances, British Journal of Hematology, Cancer, JCI Insight and JCO Precision Oncology.
