Dr. Coté is Board Certified in Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, and Pediatric Anesthesiology. He was a Section Editor of Pediatric Anesthesia and on several editorial boards including Pediatric Anesthesia. He has had a life-long interest in sedation practices by non-anesthesiologists and has been the principal author of every version of the American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines for Sedation since 1985. He has been actively involved and an officer of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists.
He has published a textbook in pediatric anesthesia, A Practice of Anesthesia for Infants and Children, which is in its 6th edition (2018) and a handbook, “Manual of Pediatric Anesthesia,” now in its 7th edition. He is the author of 76 peer-reviewed journal publications, 19 topic reviews, 28 editorials, 88 book chapters, and helped develop 34 clinical practice guidelines.
