Helen Fernandez, MD

Dr. Fernandez is Director of the Geriatrics Fellowship program at Mount Sinai, and has dedicated her career to improving the care of older adults. In addition to teaching and mentoring clinicians, Dr. Fernandez has developed and implemented new geriatrics fellowship programs and pathways and is widely admired for her dedication to enhancing the training of healthcare professionals in geriatrics. At the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she co-created the first-ever integrated geriatrics and palliative fellowship, the model for which has been disseminated across the country.
