Dr. Melson specializes in high risk and inheritable causes of gastrointestinal cancers. He is currently funded by two American Cancer Society grants. One is looking at noninvasive biomarkers in colorectal cancer screening and the other grant seeks to define the factors related to adherence to colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening. He has also published multiple articles and book chapters on colorectal cancer screening and endoscopy amongst other topics in gastroenterology.
