Dr. Ume is an assistant professor in the department of neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University’s Farber Institute for Neuroscience in Philadelphia, and a neurointensivist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Jefferson Hospital of Neuroscience, in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Ume completed his Neurocritical Care Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and his Neurology Residency at Southern Illinois University Neuroscience Institute, Springfield, IL. He is on the Neurological ICU Working Group and the Morbidity and Mortality Review Quality Improvement Committees at Thomas Jefferson University. He has been awarded for his scholarly activity and excellence in teaching, and he has co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles as well as the book chapter entitled Neurologic Considerations in Critically Ill HSCT Patients in, Pulmonary and Critical Care Considerations of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
