After earning her Bachelor of Arts at Johns Hopkins University in 2010, Dr. Perez attended Tufts University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine. She began her postgraduate training as a pediatric resident at Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai, then pursued a pediatric critical care fellowship at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Perez’s research is focused on improving multidisciplinary education regarding responses to emergencies.
She also has an interest in how socioeconomic determinants impact risk of and recovery from critical illness. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and poster presentations. Dr. Perez has a clinical focus in acute respiratory distress syndrome and predictors of long-term outcomes in critically ill children. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the New York Society of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
