Dr. Balogun is also Vice Chair of Education, Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Care, and Director of the Geriatric Medicine and the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship programs at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center’s College of Medicine. A distinguished clinician educator, Dr. Balogun has extensive experience training and developing medical education programs and has received several grants for the development of geriatric education programs. She is a certified medical director and has served as Medical Director of several long-term care facilities. Her clinical research focuses on chronic kidney disease in older adults as well as exploring clinical factors which can impact quality of life. Dr. Balogun has authored many publications and is editor of the book, “Care of the Older African Adult”.
