Steven Maron, MD MSc is a medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who specializes in treating gastrointestinal malignancies with a focus on esophageal and stomach cancers. He received his bachelor’s degree at Cornell University followed by his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College. He completed residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago. He also holds a master’s degree in biomedical informatics from the University of Chicago.
His research focuses on applying informatics tools to identify novel therapeutic targets and improve patient selection for targeted and immunotherapies. A major focus of this work has been in improving our understanding of tumor heterogeneity and developing clinical trials aimed at overcoming this barrier.
Dr. Maron’s research has been supported by grants from the National Cancer Institute, Conquer Cancer Foundation, American Association of Cancer Research, Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Cycle for Survival, Ullman Fund for Cancer Immunology, and Castle Foundation.
