Dr. Theresa Scott is also Associate Pediatrics Clerkship Director at Weill Cornell Medical College. She teaches pediatric residents and medical students in the inpatient setting and is the recipient of the 2024 Excellence in Medical Education: Pediatrics Clerkship award at Weil Cornell. One of her interests as an educator is medical education research which improves outcomes for hospitalized children by studying how the next generation of pediatricians is assessed. Dr. Scott participated in developing a national pediatric telemedicine curriculum for pediatric residents, and her current funded research is in development and validation of a real-time telemedicine assessment tool for pediatric resident competency. She also serves on several program interview and competency committees at Weill Cornell as well as on the Pediatric Medical Education and the Student Evaluation committees.
Prior to joining Weill Cornell Medicine as faculty, Dr. Scott completed her Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship at the bi-campus program at New York-Presbyterian Columbia and Cornell Universities. She earned a B.A. in Biology from New York University in Manhattan, and her doctorate (D.O.) degree and Masters in Neuromusculoskeletal Sciences from the New York Institute of Technology – College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Scott completed her residency at New York Medical College-Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and continued as chief resident for an additional year, receiving several teaching and clinical awards as a senior resident and fellow, including a national award for her research in pediatric telemedicine.
