How long is the USMLE Step 3 Exam?
Step 3 is a two-day examination. The first day will last approximately 7 hours and consist of 6 blocks of 38-39 questions each. The second day will be approximately 9 hours with 6 blocks of 30 items each.
How many questions are on the USMLE Step 3 Exam?
The Step 3 exam is made up of about 232 MCQs on the first day and 180 MCQs on day 2. Day 2 will also include 13 case simulations with an allowed time of 10-20 minutes each.

When preparing for the Step 3, allow yourself up to 90 seconds per question, to reflect the actual exam.
Does this Step 3 course include CCS (Clinical Case Simulation) practice?
No. This course focuses on Step 3 multiple-choice mastery. CCS interactive case simulations are not included.
Where can I try a sample CCS or learn the format?
The USMLE provides an official CCS tutorial, video, and sample/practice CCS cases. Use these first to learn the software and case flow.
